About Me

Hello! My name is JB and I am the author and founder of Ancient Destinations. I have always had a deep interest in archaeology and this passion eventually led me to study at the University of Toronto where I graduated with a degree in Anthropology.

I have learned much about ancient cultures and ancient sites throughout my studies. I am always fascinated with new archaeological discoveries and the mysteries that surround ancient places like the Giza Pyramids in Egypt and the lost city of Machu Picchu in Peru. This passion of mine is the main driving force behind the creation of this website. I want to share my interest and appreciation of all the wonderful ancient sites around the world.

I have received a number of warm emails from people who have visited my site. They have all commented on the many interesting places they never knew existed until they read about it on here. My site will continue to grow as both an educational guide and travel guide to many of the world's most ancient destinations. The information written on Ancient Destinations derive from a number of sources that helped me in my research. These include travel guidebooks, academic textbooks, magazines, newspapers, online resources and my own travel experiences. All content is rewritten in my own words.
