- Great Wall of ChinaThe Great Wall of China is one of the world's
largest building construction projects ever undertaken by man. This massive wall
stretches across northern China from the Gansu province to the province of Hebei.
It is over 5000 km long and is up to 25 feet in height. The wall consists mainly
of masonry, rocks and packed earth. This ancient Chinese fortification
was built by emperor Qin Shi Huang over 2000 years ago to protect China
from Mongol and Turkish raids. The Great Wall of China continues to be one of
the most popular historical travel spots in China to visit. (More

- Chinese Terra Cotta Warriors Located in the modern city of Xi'an
lies the Terra - Cotta Museum. The museum is divided into three sections (Pits
1, 2, and 3) and covers an area of 16,000 square meters. The museum is home to
the world famous Chinese Terra - Cotta Warriors. Discovered in 1974, this extraordinary
site houses a collection of 8,099 life size warriors. Each statue ranges in height
from 5 to 6 feet and they all have their own distinct pose and outfit. (More
Photos) Archaeologists say that the Terra -
Cotta statues were part of the burial for emperor Qin Shi Huang who died in 210
BC. Emperor Huang was also responsible for the construction of the Great Wall
of China. Inside this massive grave the statues are accompanied by real chariots,
jade artifacts, swords and other numerous valuable items. The statues are believed
to represent real warriors who served under the emperor's rule. The discovery
of the Terra - Cotta statues are considered to be one of the greatest archaeological
